To our Customers, Clients, Vendors and Friends:
We at LAVATEC, Inc. in Naugatuck, CT would like to bring you up to date about recent events.
As you are aware we filed for bankruptcy protection, under Chapter 11 in July 2009. During this period from July 2009 until today we have been operating normally with a full staff of service, parts, sales and manufacturing personnel.
IMPORTANT EVENT
As of July 2010, Samir Tadros no longer has any affiliation or connection with Lavatec, Inc. In the interim I, Herman Bernstein, am the acting president pending our reorganization.
OUR FUTURE
We are presently in the process of reviewing a number of positive financial options that will take us out of bankruptcy. Any of these options would be extremely beneficial to our customers and will allow us to continue to provide full parts and service capabilities, including supplying equipment for their future needs.
NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM
- Reiner Schmelcher oversees production and technical support;
- Hector Alejandro is in charge of our parts and service departments;
- Bruce Burmann is responsible for sales and marketing, supported by Patti Thomas;
- Lucien Bourque oversees parts and service for our line of folding equipment;
- Peter Thompson is responsible for all the business related matters and daily operations.
This group of employees has been working together for over 15 years and has extensive experience with the Lavatec line of equipment.
THE LAVATEC NAME
Our company has operated from Naugatuck, Connecticut since 1987 and is the only company since then using our name and trademark within North America. We have been advised that the new buyer of the German company seeks to wrest the name from us in the U.S. We feel very confident that Lavatec, Inc. (Connecticut) will prevail in this dispute. We appreciate your loyalty and support and will continue to earn your trust as we move forward.
OUR PLEDGE TO YOU
Lavatec, Inc operates from a modern facility in Connecticut. We have full capabilities of manufacturing our complete line of folding equipment as well as washer/extractors. Our experienced service engineers can repair and service all equipment in the field and we are able to rebuild and refurbish equipment in our facilities.
