Informative article. Such a relief to read that Lavatec was able to pull through this crisis. Lavatec is such key player in the industry including its spread among other businesses that rely on large companies such as Lavatec. With so many companies on the verge of going bankrupt, its comforting to hear that Lavatec pulled through. Thank you for the article and the opportunity to comment!

What a joke, I thought Tide was superior to other detergents? Now it needs a whitener in order to deliver results. Too funny, it seems competing in commerical laundries, P&G has had to go back to the drawing board. And this is the best they can do? Why add extra costs to hotel operators? Why not just make Tide work instead of adding products.

I manage the laundry program for a chemical distributor. The washing parameters given above for chlorine vs HP are correct. As with anything, there is some flexibility but very little. Low temp (below 160) with hydrogen peroxide will not allow it to function. Higher temps with chlorine without the proper pH will cause it to “flash” off rather than work off throughout the bleach bath. You should challenge your Ecolab tech and probably request a new one.

Ricky,
In healthcare it’s been noted and cited. That time and temperature kills more bacteria in any washed textile the heat temperature is a key ingredient. Look it up in any healthcare infection control and textile.
